Federal Government wants to help different Government departments to go paperless. And recently NITB has decided to launch the latest version of E-office to the province. And this helpful step was taken in the last meeting of the Federal Minister for Information and Telecommunication Syed Amin UL Haque. CEO National Information Technology Board (NITB) Shabahat Ali Shah and Federal Secretary Ministery of IT Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui were also present in the meeting.
Federal Minister for IT said that we are now going to take steps towards digitalization. He also said E-office in Pakistan helps different Government sectors to improve their performance and also ensures transparency in public services.
According to the National Information Technology Board (NITB), E-office in Pakistan will improve the efficiencies of an organization through electronic administration. And in this way, all government offices are able to work paperless and more efficiently. So With E-Office all the private data all safe and secure. And the system will also provide daily backups and a Disaster Recovery System (DRS), so all the Government data or files will not damage I case of any mishap.
Moreover, in E-office data can be shared with some other Government departments. And you don’t need to share data in big files which takes a lot of time to share. The system also ensures that data will be properly stored with some reference, so you can easily fetch data at any time.
According to , Still, now this E-office system is adopted by 31 Ministries and 48 Government departments. Out of a total of 42 ministries and that implementation was pending in the remaining 11 ministries. The reason for the delay in the implementation of this system is the non-issuance of funds by the finance ministry. And it was decided that the committee would write to the finance ministry against the stoppage of E-office funds.
