Gorilla Glass Victus is the Strongest Glass protection, gives 2-meter drop protection
Gorilla Glass-maker always announces their new glass every couple of years. And every new glass is more significant from its previous one, the new glass is more scratch resistance or drop protection. Same way, the new Gorilla Glass Victus comes with more improvements on both critical fronts at the same time. This time Gorilla Glassmakers promises 2m drop protection and doubles the scratch resistance of Gorilla Glass 6. And this one is the strong glass ever build with 2m protection.
Gorilla Glass Victus brings the strongest 2m drop protection
New Victus glass can do both drops and scratch resistance simultaneously. And its scratch resistance power is twice of Gorilla Glass 6, four times the resistance of competitor glass. And according to the report, the new Gorilla Glass Victus could let your phone tolerate 6.5 foot(2m) drop.
The company didn’t tell that how thick will be the Victus layer on upcoming phones is, as compared to the previous phones using Gorilla Glass 6. This time repeated drop resistance has also improved, tolerate approximately 20 drops from 1m height on average. While with Gorilla Glass 6, it survived 15 drops from the same height.
But the drop and scratch resistance can vary widely depending on how to scratch or drop your phone. When a reporter asked from Gorilla Glass Scientist that, the bits of dirt, sand, and other materials can get wedged in coins and keys and cause scratch could this will be possible for Gorilla Glass Victus, he said “Those caveats would still apply on any glass material”.
Now the next generation phones will use this glass and Samsung will be the first brand who use this glass on its new Galaxy Note 20.
