According to some sources, Google’s next chip will be design with the help of Samsung. Samsung is going to make multiple chips for Google devices although they are not necessarily for existing devices categories. The First chip which Samsung is going make is a body motion sensor, while another one is an application processor for an unknown purpose.
Google’s Next Chip
The Giant tech is expected to use Samsung’s 5-nanometer technology to design its next chip. The chips are also available for Chromebook devices. According to the report by Axios, Google has already received the first working version of this chip. And now Google wants to integrate this chip in next year’s Pixel phones. The chip is codenamed Whitechapel and it includes an eight-core ARM processor.

Still, now it is not confirmed that when will Samsung launch Google’s next chips. The source doesn’t share much information about these chips. Samsung is doing well in a job in making such chips, as Samsung has already manufacture Apple’s iPhone chips, as well as its own Exynos processors.
So Google is also giving chance to Samsung for making Google’s next chips. These chips will be found in the next Pixels devices which will be launch in 2021. The Samsung Chips architecture helps pixel phones and other products perform tasks that would be impractical using a general-purpose processor.
Google’s Custom Chip
A recent report also suggests that Samsung is also working with Google to build another custom chip. The chip is rumored to feature eight CPU cores with four Cortex-A55, two Cortex-A78 cores, and two Cortex-A76 cores.
Google needs custom hardware to provide a unique experience to its users and these custom chips are difficult fo make. The giant tech has a strong incentive to dive into bespoke chips, at lease. Google is a competitor of giant techs like Apple, Samsung, and Huawei that can afford to design their own Silicon.
